HVI, 3 others nabbed; P655,000 shabu seized

A HIGH-VALUE individual (HVI) and three others were arrested while some P655,140 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Friday, January 8. 2021.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the HVI as Jan Vincent Santos, 31.

Duco said Santos was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:58 p.m. Thursday in Canelar village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from the possession of Santos were some 89.8 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P610,640 and P500 marked money.

Duco identified the other three arrested suspects as follows: Julian Eleccion, 44; Warlito Salvador, 39; and Jesselton Chan, 40.

Duco said that Eleccion was arrested in possession of some P1,500 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 4 p.m. Thursday on Daisy Road in Guiwan village, Zamboanga City.

Seized from Salvador were some P41,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Canelar village, Zamboanga City.

He said Chan yielded some P2,000 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Canelar village, Zamboanga City.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects who are detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
