Jobs fair set in Zamboanga on September 21

AT LEAST 6,000 job vacancies – for local and international placement – are up for grabs in the jobs fair on Friday, September 21, in Zamboanga City.

The jobs fair will be held at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga activity area from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and was organized by the Public Employment Service Office (Peso) under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in collaboration with other agencies.

Maria Socorro Rojas, CSWDO chief and Peso manager, said of the total job vacancies, over 500 will be for local placement while over 5,000 vacancies will be for placement abroad.

Rojas said the job fair is the first part of the Hermosa Job Fair, being held annually in celebration of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in honor of Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar.

Rojas said that a bigger job fair is slated to be held from October 19-20 in the same venue.

She said that a total of 30 local and overseas recruitment agencies will be participating in jobs fair on Friday. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
