Livestock merchant killed, another hurt in gun attack

A LIVESTOCK merchant was killed while his companion survived, although wounded, in a drive-by gun attack in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police said Wednesday, September 25.

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) reported the incident happened at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at Sitio Texas in Licomo Village.

The police identified the fatality as Jimmy Huesca, 32, a resident of the village of Cayamcam, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Wounded was Bryan Asunio, 19, a resident of Guilinan village, Tungawan municipality.

Investigation showed the victims were aboard a tricycle driven by Jerry Timpangco, 52, on the way home when repeatedly shot by one of two men riding on a motorcycle that overtook them.

The victims came from Vitali village, Zamboanga City, where they delivered hogs at the time of the incident.
