THE sixth most wanted person in the province of Maguindanao was killed in an operation launched by government troops, a top military official said.

Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief, identified the slain wanted person as Ebrahim Mudzol Ali, alias Dalupang.

Sobejana said Ali was killed in a shootout while the joint military and police team were serving a warrant for his arrest around 5 p.m. Monday, December 9, in Sitio Kiniputan, Barangay Poblacion Dalican, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

Sobejana said the shootout ensued when Ali opened fire, prompting the lawmen to retaliate, resulting in the death of the fugitive.

Recovered from Ali was a caliber .45 pistol with one magazine loaded with seven rounds of ammunition.

He added that Ali was involved in carnapping and series of killings in Maguindanao.

He said they will continue to support the police in the conduct of law enforcement operations to eliminate the menace of society. (SunStar Zamboanga)
