Militiaman nabbed for kidnapping charge

A MILITIAMAN facing kidnapping charges was arrested in Zamboanga del Sur province, a top police official said Saturday.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Jionrel Largo alias Joy, 34, a resident of Purok 2 in Puntod village, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental.

Licup said Largo was arrested after being served a warrant of arrest around 1 p.m. on Good Friday at Sitio Balabag in Depore village, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur.

Licup said Largo has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of kidnapping with no bail bond recommended dated March 25, 2019 issued by the court of Calamba, Misamis Occidental.

He said Largo was arrested by a joint team of policemen from the town of Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of Misamis Occidental. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
