Norwegian, pal plunge into concrete drainage

A NORWEGIAN and his Filipina companion were injured when the motorcycle they were riding plunged into a concrete drainage in a remote are in Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Thursday, October 24.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday along national highway at Sitio Loquilos in Linay Village, Manukan town, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Galvez identified the victims as Nilsen Kurt Tore, 53, a Norwegian, and his companion, Revie Gumikib Sumagop, 19.

She said investigation showed that Tore was driving a motorcycle with Sumagop as his back rider when they fell into a concrete drainage when the motorcycle swerved to the opposite direction as Tore lost control of the steering bar while traveling from Dipolog City to Manukan.

The police officer said Tore was driving without license while the motorcycle they were riding was undocumented.

The two were admitted at the Zanorte Medical Center in Dipolog City, she added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
