A FEMALE medic of the New People’s Army (NPA) and her comrades surrendered to the military troops Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in Lebak town, Sultan Kudarat, the military reported.

Major General Roy Galido, Joint Task Force (JTF)-Central commander, identified the NPA surrenderers only through their alias as Lyn or Ren, 29, a platoon medic; alias Dok, 38; and alias CJ, 31, political guide.

All of the three NPA surrenderers belong to the Platoon Madrid, West Daguma Front, Sub-Regional Committee Daguma, of the NPA’s Far South Mindanao Region.

They surrendered and yielded two M16A1 rifles to the 37th Infantry Battalion (IB) based in Tibpuan village, Lebak municipality.

Lieutenant Colonel John Paul Baldomar, 37IB commander, said the surrender of the three NPA rebels is a result of their intensified intelligence and focused military operations.

The three NPA rebels decided to surrender because of the hardships and pressure brought about by the continuous conduct of focused military operations and the series of encounters they had with the government forces that resulted in the neutralization of some of their leaders.

They also lack moral and financial support from the leadership of FSMR.

They are currently undergoing custodial debriefing and processing for their inclusion in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-Clip.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Alfredo Rosario Jr., commander of Western Mindanao Command, said the surrender of the three members of the West Daguma Front is an indication of its continuous downfall. (SunStar Zamboanga)
