P1.1-M shabu seized, high-value personality nabbed

POLICE operatives arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized some P1.1 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Saturday, January 16, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboagna Peninsula director, identified the arrested HVI suspect as Nurhan Ismula alias Nick, 32, of Sitio Mulumuluan in Mercedes village.

Ylagan said that Ismula was arrested in a buy-bust around 8:40 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 in Arena Blanco village.

Ylagan said operatives recovered from the possession of Ismula some 97 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1.1 million, and 69 bills of P1,000 boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money.

He said the suspect was detained at the locked-up cell of Zamboanga City Police Office Station 6 while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him.

He commended the relentless efforts of the local police for the notable accomplishment in the fight against illegal drugs. (SunStar Zamboanga)
