FIVE people were arrested as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) dismantled as drug den in Zamboanga City, an official said Saturday, September 21.

Lawyer Jacqueline De Guzman, PDEA regional director, said the drug den was dismantled following the conduct of a drug bust around 3 p.m. Thursday at Purok Sagrada, Barangay Camino Nuevo.

De Guzman identified the arrested suspects as follows: Cristy Salazar, the drug den maintainer; Myrna Salazar, the co-maintainer; Jarold Disor, Kevin Delos Reyes, and Joshua Rañin, all drug den’s visitors.

She said the suspects were arrested after one of them sold to an undercover agent a heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

The PDEA official said seized from the drug den were P68,000 worth of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams, P29,840 cash in different denominations believed to be proceeds money, and P500 marked money.

She said charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 and 15, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been filed against the suspects, who are detained. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
