THE Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) under the leadership of Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega has been conferred with a Plaque of Excellence by the Annual General Inspection (AGI) team.

The award was presented Friday, May 24, to Dela Vega by Major General Antonio Ramon Lim, the Inspector General of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during the exit briefing in Camp Navarro, Zamboanga City.

Colonel Gerry Besana, Westmincom information officer, said the award was given to Westmincom for attaining an overall rating of 96.45 percent for calendar year 2018 during the 2019 AGI conducted from May 14 to 24, 2019.

Besana said the AGI looks into the mission accomplishment, security preparedness, unit readiness, state of morale and discipline, and the effective and efficient utilization of resources of the Command.

“We are very honored to receive this kind of award. I would like to personally express my sincerest gratitude to all the officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees of this command and all the ground units,” Dela Vega said.

“This recognition is for all of us. Our hard work and dedication has been paid off,” Dela Vega added. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
