Police nab 3 in anti-drug sting

THREE persons were arrested, while P70,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, an official said Tuesday, November 19.

Major Elmer Solon, Police Station 11 chief, identified the arrested suspects as Ediamen Timba Samla, 33; Saddam Samla Timba, 29; and Mary Ann Yap Samla, 26, all residents of Baliwasan, Zamboanga City.

Solon said the three were arrested in a drug bust around 10 p.m. Monday, November 18, at the Baliwasan Commercial Complex in the village of Baliwasan.

Seized from them were P70,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in 20 small heat-sealed plastic sachets, as well as P200 marked money.

Solon said the suspects were detained pending the filing for formal charges against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
