Police recapture escapee-detainee

THE police have re-captured the detainees who escaped from police custody in Zamboanga City, an official said Saturday, June 16.

Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, said the detainee-escapee, Saydil Aming Taup, was re-captured at 1:15 p.m. Friday in a manhunt operation at Purok 3 in Sinunuc village, 9.3 kilometers west of this city.

Chang said Taup was re-captured following receipt of reliable information that the latter was hiding beneath the residence of a certain “Supot” in Purok 3.

Taup, although handcuffed, escaped around 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Purok 3 in Sinunuc village by jumping off a police vehicle while he and another detainee were being transported and escorted by PO2 Mohammad Dammang and PO2 Alden Ahamad from the Justice Hall to the Police Station 8.
