THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Inter-Agency Task Force (Barmm-IATF) on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) announced that the region’s patients under investigation (PUI) for Covid-19 has decreased by 61 percent.

Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan, Barmm minister of health and task force co-chairperson, said Tuesday, April 7, that out of 254 PUI cases across Barmm, only 100 PUIs are still awaiting results.

Dipatuan added that of the total, 136 have completed home quarantine, 16 recovered and discharged, and two died.

He said out of the 7,785 persons under monitoring (PUMs), 2,168 are still undergoing strict home quarantine.

“Yong curve natin ay bumababa, pero iyong sinasabi nilang magfa-flatten ang curve ay hindi pa nag-flatten dahil meron pa ring natitirang PUIs at PUMs,” Dipatuan said.

“Kung sakaling dumating yong panahon na pinapalangin natin, that will be the time na we can declare nag-flatten yong curve at nawala ang banta ng Covid-19 crisis na ito,” he added.

He said that eight persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the entire region. Of these, there were three fatalities, three recoveries, and two ongoing cases from Datu Odin Sinsuat municipality in Maguindanao and in Marawi City.

Meanwhile, he said Barmm has recorded on Monday, April 6, new positive case, a 54-year-old male from Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao who is now undergoing strict home quarantine. (SunStar Zamboanga)
