AUTHORITIES have arrested a security guard, who is also in-charge of an apartment, in an east coast village of this city, the police reported Wednesday, October 4.

The Zamboanga City Police Station 5 (ZCPS5) identified the arrested security guard as Marvin Delos Reyes, 41, a resident of Vitali village, this city.

The police said Delos Reyes was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, at Marcos Drive in Putik village, east of this city.

The police said prior to the arrest of Delos Reyes, two occupants of the apartment he was guarding sought the assistance of ZCPS5 as they noticed for several days some of their belongings and money were missing, especially when they are away.

The occupants cum-complainants are Judith Marie Kithcurt, 64, a retired US Army and a native of Georgia, United States of America, and Maria Lourdes Conde, 64.

During investigation, the responding policemen recovered a gold-plated bracelet owned by Conde from Delos Reyes, who has access to all apartments as he is in possession of all room keys.

However, Conde’s P49,000 cash, watch and other jewelries were missing.

The police said also missing were Kithcurt’s passport, immigration visa, automated teller machine cards, veteran’s identification and social security cards as well as P86,000 cash.

Delos Reyes was turned over to the custody of ZCPS5 for appropriate action. (SunStar Zamboanga)
