Septuagenarian nabbed for rape, child abuse

POLICE authorities have arrested a septuagenarian tagged as one of the most wanted persons in Zamboanga del Norte province, an official said Saturday, February 02.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Morindo Motargo, 77.

Licup said Motargo was arrested in a manhunt operation around 4:30 p.m. in Dagohoy village, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Motargo is listed as the number four most wanted person in Dapitan City, he added.

The police director said Motargo has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
