Sulu town inaugurates diesel power plant

THE municipality of Luuk in the province of Sulu now has its own power generation plant.

Luuk Vice Mayor Al-Makram Arbison, together with officials of Sulu Electric Cooperative Incorporated (Suleco), has led the inauguration last week the Luuk Diesel Power Plant in Tandu-Bato village in that town.

“The Diesel Power Plant is a testament to Luuk’s commitment to promote the progress of the municipality,” Arbison said in a statement.

“Now, we are doing our best to meet the energy needs of our growing community while prioritizing environmental sustainability,” Arbison added.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Giovanni Franza, 1102nd Infantry Brigade commander, has assured that the troops will help secure all vital installations in the second district of Sulu.

The municipality of Luuk, which comprises of 12 villages, fall within the second district of Sulu.

Arbison said the new Diesel Power Plant is a testament to Luuk’s dedication in providing its residents with a consistent and efficient supply of electricity.(SunStar Zamboanga)
