Suspected pusher killed in drug bust

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was killed in a drug bust on Saturday, June 16, in Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Amet Datu Cadui Puengan, 49, a resident of Palalian village in Malangas town, was killed around 10:55 p.m. Saturday in Purok Makabibihag in Poblacion, Malangas.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, information officer of the Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula, said Puengan allegedly pulled a caliber .38 revolver and opened fire but missed his target, an undercover policeman to whom he sold P500 worth of suspected shabu.

The suspect was injured when the policeman returned fire. He was taken to a hospital in Diplahan town but expired while under treatment.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were four heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a caliber .38 revolver with four ammunition and one empty shell and a motorcycle.
