THE Army's First Infantry "Tabak" Division (ID) has received four new officers to join its rank, while a junior officer was promoted to a higher rank.

Major General Generoso Ponio, 1ID commander, welcomed the four officers during the flag raising ceremony Monday, January 17, at the grandstand of Camp Major Cesar Sang-an, home of the 1ID headquarters in Barangay Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The newly assigned officers to the 1ID were: Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Cunanan, Captain Noelio Brigole Jr., Captain Ian Kher Inot, and Captain Lhangki Nabua.

Cunanan was previously assigned with the Army's Training and Doctrine Command (Tradoc) in Capas, Tarlac, while Brigole came from the 2nd Infantry Division, and Inot and Nabua from the 8th Infantry Division.

Ponio led the pinning of "Tabak" patches to the four officers as he welcomed them to the command.

"We are very proud to receive you, and I'm sure that you will contribute to the accomplishment of the mission with the talents that you possess," Ponio told the four newly-assigned officers.

The four officers expressed their gratefulness for the warm greetings.

They assured the officers and men of the 1ID that they will make every effort to help accomplish the unit's mission.

Promoted to the next higher rank is Second Lieutenant Ruth Elaine Aquino.

Ponio congratulated Aquino and pinned her the rank of First Lieutenant in the same ceremony. (SunStar Zamboanga)
