THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) backed by policemen have arrested four people, including a teacher, and seized more than P347,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Zamboanga del Sur, an official said Friday, December 20.

PDEA regional director Edgar Jubay identified the arrested suspects as Miezel Dybongco, 32, a teacher; her husband, Fredo, 32; Earl Heinrich Galindo, 31; and Emily Sayson, 48.

Jubay said Dybongco, her husband Fredo, and Galindo were arrested in a drug bust around 7 a.m. Wednesday in Maloloy-on Village, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

He said seized from the three were some 50 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P340,000, bundles of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill used as drug bust money, a pouch, envelope and a sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Jubay said Sayson was caught in possession of some P7,004 worth of suspected shabu when arrested in another drug bust around 1:35 p.m. Tuesday at Purok Mauswagon in Blancia Village, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

The PDEA official said also seized from Sayson were P1,000 marked money and a pouch aside from suspected shabu.

He said appropriate charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
