Top 1 wanted person, another nabbed

JOINT police and military team arrested two people, including one of the most wanted persons, in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, an official announced Monday.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Asmad Abdul Arasi, 33; and, Amerin Budlo Salihon, 34.

Duco said the two were arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 1:55 p.m. Sunday in New Salvacion village, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said that Arasi is listed as the number one most wanted person in Labason, Zamboanga del Norte and has six standing warrants of arrest for murder; murders with multiple attempted murders; frustrated murders; and, grave threats.

He said that Salihon has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of multiple attempted murder with assault upon persons in authority.

He said the warrants of arrest against them two were all issued by the court of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said the two were placed under the custody of the Labason Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
