THE Army’s 64th Infantry Battalion has distributed vegetable seeds to residents in Tumahubong village, Sumisip, Basilan province.

Lieutenant Colonel Renantes Besa, 64th Infantry Battalion commander, said the distribution of seeds jibed with initial inspection and visitation of household gardens in the villages of Upper Cabengbeng and Sapah Bulak.

Omar Kabak and Tammy Ghaneeyun, villages chiefs of Upper Cabengbeng and Sapah Bulak, respectively, joint in the distribution of the vegetable seeds, which was held Thursday, May 21.

Besa said that Sumisip Mayor Juil Adnan Hataman has also provided additional okra, eggplant and string beans seeds to 86 households in the two villages.

“We are very grateful that more households are already having their gardens and are very enthusiastic in joining and supporting our flagship project,” Besa said.

“We encourage every household to expand their garden and it was very fulfilling to learn that some are already producing and selling their farm products,” he added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
