JOINT military and police forces have seized high-powered firearms and explosives in a law enforcement operation in Maguindanao, officials said Wednesday, April 28.

Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), said the firearms and explosives were recovered by the troops in a joint law enforcement operation in Sitio Lasian in Kabuling village, Pandag, Maguindanao.

Vinluan said the subject of the search warrant, Ongga Guiamad, has eluded arrest.

Guimad sensed the presence of the operating troops, he added.

Guiamad has a standing warrant of arrest for murder, according to Brigadier Genral Roy Galido, 601st Infantry Brigade commander.

The warrant server team recovered from Guiamad’s residence one Barret rifle, one M-79 grenade launcher, two fragmentation grenades, one rifle grenade, six unserviceable caliber .38 revolvers, one unserviceable KG9, 26 live ammunition for shotgun, parts of caliber .45 pistol, five bandoliers and three sling bags.

Troops are tracking down Guiamad’s whereabouts. (SunStar Zamboanga)
