Twister hits Sibugay coastal village

FIVE houses made of light materials were destroyed when a twister hit the coastal village of Magdaup in Ipil town, Zamboanga Sibugay, around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20,

The Ipil-based DXMG-Radyo Bisdak reported based on the accounts of the residents in Sitio Palid that it was their first time to experience a twister since they have lived in the area for the past 20 years.

Dennis Baguio, an executive assistant of Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Wilter Yap Palma, said the twister suddenly happened while they were watching television series.

Baguio said there was to reported casualty except for the houses that were damaged during the incident.

Daphne Santuyo, Radyo Bisdak station manager, posted photographs on her social media page that showed the damaged houses and agricultural crops.

The worth of property damaged has yet to be ascertained. (SunStar Philippines)
