Village chief arrested for murder

OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Zamboanga Peninsula arrested a village official who is facing criminal charges in a court in Sulu, an official said Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Police Colonel John Francis Encinareal, CIDG-Zamboanga Peninsula chief, identified the arrested official as Radzata Dambong, village chairperson of Asin, Panamao, Sulu.

Encinareal said Dambong was arrested in a law enforcement operation around 1:46 p.m. Monday in Seit Lake village, Panamao.

He said the Dambong has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of murder with no recommended bail issued by the court in Parang, Sulu.

Dambong was involved in the killing of Mukim Hussin, 58, on November 7, 2020 in Tunggol village, Kalingalan Caluang, Sulu, he added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
