Village exec hurt, pal unscathed in knife attack

A VILLAGE official was wounded while his companion was unscathed in a knife attack in a remote village of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Saturday, February 13, 2021.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the victim as Kosaying Basa Mucca, 38, a councilor in the village of Salvacion, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

Unscathed was his companion, Emi Concepcion Dumpalac, 42, a resident of Cocob village in Gutalac of the same province.

Duco said investigation showed that Mucca sleeping at the house of Dumpalac when an unidentified person surfaced and stabbed the village official.

He said Mucca was rushed to Liloy Integrated Hospital for treatment, while the suspect fled after the incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
