Village exec nabbed for acts of lasciviousness

A SUSPENDED village official was arrested in a law enforcement operation in the island town of Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported.

Police Captain Deogenes Lapaz, Olutanga police chief, identified the arrested official as Fernando Alvares Lapaz, 53, the suspended village chief of Bateria, Olutanga.

Lapaz said the village official was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 10 a.m. Friday in Bateria village, Olutanga town.

He said Lapaz has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of acts of lasciviousness with P36,000 recommended bail issued on January 5, 2021, by the 4th Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Olutanga-Mabuhay-Talusan.

He said Lapaz was placed under the temporary custody of the Olutanga Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
