THE Zamboanga City Water District reminded its concessionaires that the every-other-day rationing scheme it implemented since mid-February, this year, “is still currently enforced and has not yet been lifted.”

While raw water inflow has improved considerably the past weeks, Edgar Baños, ZCWD information officer, said Tuesday, June 11, the monitored water level at the treatment plant intake has hovered in the 74-meter (M), the normal water level being at 74.20-M.

“The same is true with raw water inflow at its bulk water supply plant at Pamucutan in the west coast,” Baños said.

He said the Prime water reported improving raw water inflow as it has topped production of 37 million liters per day (MLD) as of Monday, closer to its rated capacity of 50 MLD.

He said the ZCWD feels it has not yet gotten comfortable enough to warrant recommending the lifting of the citywide water rationing scheme although the situation improved.

They will recommend for the water rationing scheme’s lifting as soon as operations return to normalcy, Baños added. ( Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
