THE Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) has recognized the valuable contributions of the outgoing team of the Special Operations Task Force (SOTF) 511.2.

Colonel Elmer Suderio, the Chief of Unified Command Staff of Westmincom, awarded Military Civic Action Medal to Major Scott Cook, the outgoing commanding officer of SOTF 511.2, and all the officers and members of the team in a simple awarding ceremony on Monday, January 30, at the Laong Laan Hall at Camp Navarro that houses the Westmincom headquarters in Calarian village, this city.

In his message, Cook expressed his gratitude to Westmincom for making their six months mission a success.

Cook also encouraged the Westmincom to give the same support to the incoming team of SOTF 511.2.

Meanwhile, Major General Roy Galido, Westmincom chief, presented a Command Plaque and a Plaque of Appreciation to the SOTF 511.2 during the exit call of Cook on Monday afternoon, January 30.

“We recognize the valuable contributions to the overall accomplishments of the command. The continuous and effective technical intelligence support and special trainings they conduct aid in our efficient conduct of military operations against terrorist groups in our area of operation,” Galido said.

The outgoing team stayed in the country from August 1, 2022, to January 30, 2023.
