Woman yields P380,000 worth of ‘shabu’

A SUSPECTED big time drug pusher arrested last Friday in Larayan village, Dapitan City, yielded P380,101.64 worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and has been charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, an official said Monday.

Laurefel Gabales, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director, said charged before the Dipolog City Prosecutor’s Office is Vierna Guinares alias Bingkay Pantoja, 43, a resident of the village of Sta. Isabel.

Gabales said the cases against Guinares were filed on Saturday, a day after she was arrested in a drug bust by joint PDEA and police personnel in Larayan village.

He said the cases included for violations of Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Gabales said confiscated from the suspect’s possession during her arrested were 55.8 grams of suspected shabu packed in three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and P1,000 marked money.

He said the suspect was temporarily detained at the lock-up cell of the Dapitan City police station. (SunStar Philippines)
