Zamboanga City Covid-19 recoveries continue to increase

LOCAL health authorities recorded an additional 60 new recoveries, 39 new cases and seven new mortalities in Zamboanga City, bringing the total confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to 21,870 as of Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

However, Dr. Dulce Amore Miravite, city health officer, said Thursday, November 18, the active cases of Covid-19 went down to 706 while the recovered cases increased to 20,143. The death toll was at 1,021.

With this development, Miravite said this city recorded a recovery rate of 92.10 percent as the recoveries continue to increase.

Miravite said 64.3 percent of the 706 active cases were asymptomatic, 26.9 percent with mild symptoms, 3.9 percent moderate and 4.3 percent severe.

“No one is in critical condition,” Miravite added.

Meanwhile, she announced that they have already vaccinated some 612,558 individuals against Covid-19 as of Wednesday, November 17, as the vaccination program continues in Zamboanga City.

She said 378,306 individuals representing 54.45 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696 received their first dose.

Some 234,152 or 33.70 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696 got their second or are fully vaccinated, according to Miravite. (SunStar Zamboanga)
