Zamboanga City Government opens road project to decongest traffic

THE Zamboanga City Government paves the way for an alternative road for the convenience of motorists coming from the east coast.

This, as the City fast-tracks the concreting of the Tugbungan-Putik-Boalan Road, which is expected to help decongest traffic since motorists will soon have an alternative option with the new route.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar on Tuesday, June 21, inspected the ongoing road project to monitor its progress.

Salazar committed to ensure the completion of projects initiated during her administration.

The road concreting project costs P49.8 million, the funding of which is taken from the 2022 Annual Budget.

The implementation of the project is being undertaken by a private contractor under the supervision of the City Engineer's Office.

The project is expected to complete within 159 calendar days. (SunStar Zamboanga)
