City sets massive clean-up activity

THE Zamboanga City Government has enjoined the different sectors to participate in the citywide massive clean-up activity slated on Sunday, February 24, in an effort to sustain initiatives in solid waste management.

The main activity is set at the R.T. Lim Boulevard to kick off at 5 a.m. but clean-up efforts will also be initiated in the different villages and in the commercial center of the city.

The activity forms part of the 82nd Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga celebration.

Christian Olasiman, head of the City Special Events Team, said the Dia de Zamboanga is not just a celebration of history, culture and the arts but also an opportunity for residents “to show their love for Zamboanga by making sure that the city is clean.”

Representatives of the different sectors in the city are expected to assemble at the R.T. Lim Boulevard at 5 a.m. Sunday for the coastal clean-up, while the other sectors will converge in the different villages and in the commercial center for a similar activity. (SunStar Philippines)
