THE State of the City Address (Soca) in Zamboanga City this year will have a limited number of audience and will be aired virtually brought about by the prevailing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

Vice Mayor Rommel Agan said only the department heads of the city government will be invited to physically attend the Soca of Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.

Agan said all the other guests of the activity are invited through virtual attendance.

In previous years, the guests include regional directors, top military and police officials, the two congresspersons, village officials, former city government officials, and representatives from the religious, academe, business and non-government organization sectors.

Lawyer Kenneth Beldua, city secretary, said they have already started the preparations for the Soca, the schedule of which has yet to be ascertained.

Salazar, during the Soca, will present her administration’s accomplishments in 2020 and the plans for 2021.

Salazar’s Soca this year is the seventh since the time she was elected mayor in 2013. (SunStar Zamboanga)
