Zamboanga City named 13th most business friendly

ZAMBOANGA City made it to the top 13 Most Business Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 2018 Most Business Friendly LGU Awards for City Level I category or highly urbanized cities.

As finalist, Mayor Maria Isaelle Climaco-Salazar was cited for exemplifying commendable initiatives towards good governance reforms that promote trade and investment and significantly contribute to local economic development.

City Administrator Marie Angelique Go represented Salazar during the final judging session organized by the PCCI On Tuesday, October 9, in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

During the session, Go presented a five-minute video presentation about this city’s accomplishments and initiatives.

Salazar said that this city was one of the Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) in the country that advanced to the final judging of the 2018 Most Business Friendly LGU Awards for City Level 1 category or highly urbanized cities.

The four award criteria under the essential indicators included the Fast-Tracking Sustainable Local Economic Development, Improvement of Ease of Doing Business, Investment Promotion Initiatives and Initiatives to Enhance Industry/ Sectoral Competitiveness. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
