THE Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) has received a 1000-gallon capacity fire truck from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The new fire truck was secured through the initiative of Second District Representative and Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe.

DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr. led the turnover of the fire truck to Zamboanga City, along with 34 other units to selected cities and municipalities nationwide during ceremonies Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the DILG main office in Quezon City.

The new fire trucks form part of the delivery under the 2021 procurement of the DILG.

Superintendent Lucio Albarracin, ZCFD fire marshal and staff, accompanied by Jojo Dalipe, representing Congressman Dalipe, received the new fire truck from Abalos.

They thanked the DILG for the brand new fire truck that will be a big help in this city’s efforts to ensure public safety by saving lives and protecting properties.

Albarracin said the ZCFC has 36 fire trucks, of which 31 are serviceable, two unserviceable and three beyond economic repair.

He said these fire trucks are strategically assigned in the 21 fire sub-stations in the barangays and the central fire station downtown. (SunStar Zamboanga)
