Zamboanga City records 70 new Covid-19 cases

THE City Health Office reported Monday, January 18, 70 additional new confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases and five deaths in the last seven days, bringing the total caseload in the city to 3,835.

Dr. Cathy Garcia, acting city health officer, said that of the total number, 3,515 are recoveries, 140 are active cases and 180 are mortalities.

Garcia said the recovery rate remains at 92 percent.

She said 114 of the active cases are from the community, 20 are authorized persons outside residence (Apor), one local stranded individual (LSI), one City Reformatory Center-related and two detainees.

Of the total active cases, Garcia said that 14 are confined at the government-owned Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), 38 are admitted in private hospitals while 88 are isolated in local government unit-operated facilities. (SunStar Zamboanga)
