Zamboanga Peninsula gets another vaccine shipment

ANOTHER 65,430 doses of vaccines arrived in Zamboanga Peninsula Saturday, September 25, 2021, bringing to 2,652,170 the total doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines the region has received.

Dr. Augusto Manolo Alpichi, Department of Health (DOH)-Zamboanga Peninsula assistant director, said the 65,430 doses of vaccines, which is the 34th batch, consist of 30,920 doses Sinovac, 19,300 Astrazeneca, and 15,210 Pfizer.

Alpichi said the 19,300 doses of Astrazeneca are intended for Zamboanga City, while the rest will be distributed to the different parts of the region.

Alpichi said most of the vaccines that arrived in the region were Sinovac with 2,198,960 doses.

He said the other doses of vaccines are the following: Astrazeneca, 221,700; Janssen, 109,200; Pfizer, 100,110; Moderna, 13,500; and, Gamaleya, 8,700.

“We expect that more vaccines will arrive in the coming days as the vaccination program continues,” he said.

Meanwhile, Alpichi said a total of 439,623 individuals are fully vaccinated as of September 22 in the entire region.

Alpichi said the number represents 23.03 percent of the eligible population of 1,908,657 to be vaccinated.

He said 453,445 or 23.75 percent of the 1,908,657 eligible population have received their first dose of vaccines. (SunStar Zamboanga)
