Motorcycle taxi driver injured in gun attack

A DRIVER of a motorcycle taxi, locally known as habal-habal, was hot and wounded in a gun attack in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, October 10, 2023.

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) identified the victim as Marchel Napalcruz, of legal age, and a resident Cacao village, east of Zamboanga City.

The ZCPO said the incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, in Cabaluay village, east of Zamboanga City.

Initial investigation showed Napalcruz driving his motorcycle on the way to the highway of Cabaluay village when shot by an unidentified gunman.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment, the police said.

Investigation is being conducted by the local police to determine the motive as well as the identity of the suspect behind the incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
