A COMMISSION of church officials in the Vatican City is set to deliberate the "positio," or dissertation on the life and works of the late Cebuano Archbishop Teofilo Camomot on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

In a statement posted on the Cebu Archdiocese's Facebook page, church officials are urging the faithful to pray for the success of the final congress of bishops and cardinals in Rome that will deliberate Camomot's positio.

Once the commission approves Camomot's positio, it will be submitted to Pope Francis for his approval.

Once the positio is approved by the Pope, Camomot will be declared "Venerable," or the first step towards sainthood.
