THE DEPARTMENT of Agrarian Reform in Negros Occidental-South, through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp), has installed 95 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of Barangay Ilijan in Bago City.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Aurea Lingamen, who led the installation rites Wednesday, May 23, said the newly-installed ARBs received almost 91 hectares of landholdings.

The property is formerly owned by Rosalina Perez located at Hacienda Nakalang in the said barangay.

Lingamen reminded the farmer-beneficiaries to promptly pay their taxes, and land amortization to the local government and Land Bank of the Philippines, respectively.

"ARBs should not engage in the illegal sale, transfer or lease, or any other form of conveyance of the right of ownership and right to use or any usufructuary right over the land acquired under the law," she added.

The DAR also assured recipient-ARBs of its support in organizing them in order to avail various support services from the government. (Erwin P. Nicavera)
