The farmer-beneficiaries also received the certificates of land ownership award.

They will share a total of 276.59-hectare landholdings previously owned by Cooper Reata Agricultural Corporation, Abelardo Bantug, and BAPA Agricultural Corporation, all situated in Barangay Luna.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program officer II Carlos Padilla, who led the activity in Barangay Luna, said that the distribution is yet to be completed as lay-out surveys and monumenting are still ongoing.

Padilla has asked for the farmers full cooperation, urging them to patiently wait as to when they can finally position on the land.

The DAR official also announced that a credit support worth P2 million through the Agrarian Production Credit Program (APCP) can be availed by 22 farmer-members of Sitio Tagud Farmworkers Association, who form part of the recipients of the awarded land.

APCP is a program of the DAR along with the Land Bank of the Philippines and Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The agency said that the fund is intended for the operation of their proposed 34.80-hectare sugarcane production. (EPN)
