THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is distributing 7,311 hectares of agricultural lands to 7,035 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Negros Occidental on September 9 and 10, 2021.

The agency, in its Facebook post, said the lands to be distributed cover the 20 municipalities in the province.

These are Binalbagan, Calatrava, Candoni, Cauayan, Magalona, Hinigaran, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Isabela, La Castellana, Manapla, Moises Padilla, Murcia, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Salvador Benedicto, San Enrique, Toboso and Valladolid.

DAR Secretary John Castriciones will lead the distribution of certificates of land ownership award to farmer-beneficiaries in their farms and houses.

DAR-Western Visayas Regional Director Sheila Enciso, in a statement, saidunder the DAR to door program, the land titles will be delivered to the ARBs right at their doorsteps.

“This is to show to the farmers that we bring the government’s services to their own homes and give them hope that this administration can be relied upon,” Enciso said.

Aside from land distribution, there is also an installation of ARBs in Pontevedra town.

“The installation is important as this will signify their ownership of the land,” she said.

Castriciones along with other DAR top officials will also visit three agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations in the province.

This is aimed at knowing their concerns and issues so the agency could craft policies to resolve them, the regional director added.
