Erwin P. Nicavera

MEMBERS of the Federation of Irrigators' Association Central Negros– Bago River Irrigation System (FIACN-BRIS) have received over P22 million worth of farm machinery and equipment from the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover held at the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Bago City on Friday, November 13, 2020.

The agricultural projects included tractors with rotavator and tiller and combine harvesters.

The Capitol, in a statement, said these are seen to help farmers lower their production costs to increase their income.

The FIACN-BRIS is headed by its president, Rosemary Caunca, who facilitated the proposal and release of the projects, it added.

Also present during the activity were Bago City Councilors Victor Michael Javellana and Andrew Martin Torres, NIA-Negros Occidental Irrigation Management Office Division Manager Engineer Isaias Melendez, Engineer Ma. Elena Basco of NIA-Bago, and Tabunan Small Farmers Irrigators Association Inc. President Rafael Magalona, among others. (With Capitol reports)
