THE support services team of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North has conducted financial education, orientation and seminar to 12 agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (Arbos) at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

These organizations assisted by DAR-Negros Occidental I were trained to be financially responsible in paying the agricultural loans given by the agency in partnership with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

Officer-In-Charge Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Rizalina Yuguing of the Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD), in a statement, said they consistently monitor the financial repayment capacities of the Arbos in the northern portion of the province.

This is in line with the implementation of the Agrarian Production Credit Program (APCP) of the DAR and LBP, Yuguing said.

“This intervention aims to assist the different associations to be in control of the cash flows and activities of their respective cooperatives and to maintain the good credit standing from the different financial institutions,” she added.

The DAR, through the PBDD, constitutes development and support services interventions by the provision of training programs and construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure facilities.

The agency said access to ARB households to basic social services is also included in this sector to ensure holistic support for the farmer-beneficiaries.

With Negros Occidental still under the Modified General Community Quarantine, the activity complied with minimum health protocols set by authorities, it added.
