Sunnexdesk

WITH the recent declaration of a community quarantine by the local government due to coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) - Bacolod Extension Office has not suspended its operation.

Adjustment on the office hours have been implemented, which is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with rotational skeleton staff on duty.

SEC-Bacolod, in a press release, said it continues to accept inquiries and receive complaints on investment scams, receive submission of reports, and notarized and printed copy of the mandatory disclosure forms (MDF) as long as there is no order yet to close the office due to the virus threat.

Further, the public is advised to check the SEC website for the list of entities enticing them to invest whether these companies are registered or authorized to accept investment from the public or not.

They may also call the office at 445-5714 or 445-5713 or may send their queries and concerns via email at secbacolod2018@gmail.com and secbcdextension@gmail.com.

For the submission of the original notarized and printed copy of the MDF, meanwhile, the commission has suspended the submission of the same in areas placed under enhanced community quarantine due to the new corona virus disease.

The submission of the printed copy of the MDF will remain suspended until the enhance community quarantine is lifted or until further notice. The deadline was previously set on March 31, 2020.

All non-stock corporations are advised to continue filling out the online MDF during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Concerned corporations, however, are reminded that they still have to submit later on for full compliance with the requirement. (PR)
