THE country's top rum maker Tanduay Distillers Inc. (TDI) has recently turned the lights on for its Christmas tree at the New Government Center in Bacolod City.

The 29-foot tree is made of 92 Tanduay barrels filled with colorful holiday decor.

The same Christmas tree was lit at the Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro.

The company, in a statement, said the 165-year-old Filipino brand ends 2019 on a high note with several milestones.

In November, Tanduay became the only brand in the Alcoholic Spirits - Rum Category from the Philippines to receive the national-tier Brand of the Year Award for the fifth straight year from the World Branding Awards.

Earlier this year, it was also declared the world's number one rum by Drinks International. This is the second straight year that it has received the said distinction.

In August, Tanduay held the first Rum Festival in the country in the Negros Occidental capital city to pay homage to the sugarcane - the source of its world-class products.

"This year also saw the expansion of Tanduay into more international markets as it partnered with leading distributors to bring its products to Singapore and the US territory of Guam," it added. (PR)
