IN A bid to promote the local tourism industry, the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental is exploring the possibility of holding a travel expo between the province and Guam.

In fact, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has already discussed this with Guam Visitors Bureau

Vice President Gerald S.A. Perez and Marketing Manager Sharlene Guerrero during his visit in Tumon, Guam Thursday, June 9.

The governor was with Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II, Executive Assistant and Provincial Information Officer Charina Magallanes-Tan, and Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena.

The group was accompanied by Philippine Consul General to Guam Patrick John Hilado.

On Wednesday, June 8, Lacson and other provincial officials paid a courtesy visit to Guam’s Lieutenant Governor Joshua Franquez Tenorio.

They discussed the possibility of a sisterhood between Negros Occidental and Guam.

The team is also set to visit other agencies to explore and talk on possible partnership between Guam and Negros Occidental in the field of tourism, agriculture and investment opportunities, among others.

This is part of the three-day visit of the governor after having been invited to be the guest of honor and speaker during the Philippine Independence Day commemoration with the Filipino community in Guam.
