“FIRST aid saves lives,” this was the direction taken by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental under Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson as they observed the National Disaster Resilience Month this July 2019.

Capitol employees were trained by the Provincial Health Office under Dr. Ernel Tumimbang and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office under Zeaphard Gerhart V. Caelian on how to be resilient and responsive during emergencies.

With the theme: “Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago,” the employees underwent the Standard First Aid Training for three days which culminated yesterday, July 18.

The training module includes first aid techniques on cliff sling, arm sling, wound on top of the head, burn on face and back of the face, wound on forehead, wound on eyebrow, injuries to ear, cheek and jaw, wound on lateral neck, wound on shoulder, wound on arm, forehead and elbow, close palm for horizontal wound, open palm for bandaging vertical wounds, injury on thigh with impaled object, wrist dislocation, forearm fracture, straight elbow, bended elbow, open fracture bended elbow, leg straight, and femur fracture among others.
