Carla N. Canet

BUSINESSMAN Jerry Sy has made true to his commitment to bring a yearly Christmas spectacle to his fellow Bacolodnons who may want to enjoy the Yoyo Land Christmas village that he put up in front of his residence in Barangay 7, Bacolod City.

The Christmas village was named after his youngest son.

Mr. Sy has a penchant for entertainment and anything that brings joy to his fellows.

Near his residence is a neighborhood of mixed social classes.

Families go there every night to have their photos taken at the Christmas village.

The Christmas village has Ferris wheels, Disney-inspired castles, a huge Christmas tree, a carousel, the nativity scene of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in a barn with the three Kings namely Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspar, Santa Clause riding on his sleigh, the artificial snowflakes that the children and even adults are admiring and other Christmas-inspired attractions that make people definitely connected to the yuletide celebration.

Jerry Sy is delighted to see people appreciating his fascination for colorful Christmas scenery.

He hopes that everyone is given the chance to experience the Yoyo Land Christmas village. It is for free and everyone can just pass by there at night.
