AS-ASALAMU alaykum (Peace be upon you).

Muslim brothers and sisters clad in their Islamic clothing -- the modest white thaws (garment) for men and black loose dress with Hijab (head covering) for women -- gathered to hold a community prayer to celebrate Eid'l Fitr or the end of Ramadan held in front of the Bacolod Government Center Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Muslims in Bacolod City - Dar-al-Dhikr Islamic Center headed by Imam Omar Betita and Imam Abulkhaer Nadela Caruga, of Masjid Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, a grand Muslim Imam in Bacolod City, led their brother and sister Muslims to an Islamic prayer.

Imam Betita said they were grateful to Allah, one and only God they believe and worship, that they were able to survive His tests in the observance of the Haram (prohibited) and Halal (lawful and permitted) acts during the month-long period of Ramadan.

They brought along their families for the prayer, which was followed by a celebration in their respective mosque and centers.

"We honor and praise Allah for giving us the strength and courage to complete the period Ramadan, which was devoted on extended prayers and fasting. We also thanked Allah for His protection, guidance and provisions to our families," Imam Betita said.

Grand Imam Abulkhaer was also grateful to the ever merciful Allah. They celebrate a feast for Allah on this day.

Muslims from Bacolod, Calatrava and Hinigaran and other areas came to attend the community prayer and feast.

Muslim foreigners who live in Bacolod City also celebrate with their fellow Muslims.
